Most
of all, let love guide your life,
Thursday 18th August 2005 was a very exciting day for Udny & Pitmedden Church, when Rev. Regine Cheyne was inducted as minister for the parish of Udny. The
Presbytery of Gordon conducted the service where Regine made pledges
to serve the Parish of Udny & Pitmedden,
the Presbytery of Gordon and the Church of Scotland to further
God's work of the worldwide church. Then the members of Udny & Pitmedden
made pledges to serve our Minister, share the responsibility of
Christian witness in our community and to give our time, talents
and money
for the work of the worldwide church.
There was a presentation given to Regine Cheyne by Alfie Marr and George Bruce thanked our Interim Moderator, Rev. Neil Gow.
The line up of entertainment included the Choir, Helen & Tom on the penny whistle & bodhran, Scottish Highland dancing performed by Rebecca, a clarinet piece by Rebecca, Les Moffat entertained us with his medley of operatic songs, and a most memorable part of the evening was when Phoebe Taylor Thorpe sang a piece by Schuburt in German, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed but was especially appreciated by Regine’s parents. There was more Highland dancing, performed by Rebecca & Helen accompanied by Colin Grant on the bag pipes. And little Murray managed to stay awake to present Regine with her ‘New Arrival’ rose. As the evening came to a close with another piece from the Choir and the close of proceeding by Dr Roy Burnett, all in all it can be said a great evening was had by all.
A special thank you goes to Regine’s friends and family who travelled from afar to share in her special evening. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. | |||||||||||||||
